Engineered Flooring

Engineered hardwood flooring is constructed in layers, consisting of a top layer, a middle core and a backing layer.

  • The top layer or other wise known as the wear layer is the hardwood layer of the species of hardwood. This can be from 0.5mm to 6mm thick.
  • The middle layer and backing layer are either constructed from ply wood or softwoods. Each layer is bonded to the other at 90 degree angles in order to stabilise the construction.
Each 1mm of the wear layer can be sanded once.
